What are the best ways to get our holiday spending and help where it is most needed ?

How can we reach maximum amount of people and address maximum needs (houses with driveway and or garden, houses without driveway or garden, appartements, schools, ...).

Two things we need to organise: Staying & Helping

Staying

Stay local to help

  1. Just stay
  2. + help

Preferred as all money goes directly to Ukranians.

Limited to people with driveway and/or garden.

Water, toilet

  • Liability for accidental or intentional damage to assets of both parties
  • Authorisation to dump gray water in street sewer
  • Booking mechanisme

Stay cental to help

Helping

+ help

Depending on facilities, think about who gets the groseries, cooks, dumps the gray water and fills up.

Issue to solve:

  • Liability for accidents or damages
  • Responsibility quality of work
  • Selection and booking mechanism

+ travel to help

Depending on facilities, think about who gets the groseries, cooks, dumps the gray water, fills up and drives the workers back and foreward.

Support

Grocaries and cooking on a campsite for workers.

Manage a campsite provided by a community.

Prepare

Me exploring

Preparation for the unknown, both from timing and nature, is not easy, but not impossible either.

We need to

  • Set out some guidelines to find common ground amongst the participants

  • Gather information and look ahead

  • Be transparant and actively seek for feedback

  • Develop feasible formats

  • Identify the common requirements

  • Start no-regret actions (without losing a flexible response)

Be transparant and actively seek for feedback

  • Experts ?

  • Regular interaction with local government or the body responsible to coordinate the help and organisations on the ground.

Identify common requirements

  • Support routes to Ukraine

  • Ability to reach out to interested campers

  • Ability to match need with offered help

  • Qualify requests for help (safety, feasibility)

  • Safety, liability and insurance

No-regret actions

  • Start gathering willing camper owners on a forum (facebook group) and inform them regularly

  • Reach out to other support organisations
